ArbFest 2023
We are delighted to launch Edinburgh International Arbitration Festival (#ArbFest2023), which offers sponsors and delegates a unique opportunity to interact with leading experts and gain insights into the latest international developments in arbitration law, all with the backdrop of Scotland’s famous capital city.
The inaugural ArbFest will be held on 21 and 22 September 2023, a year on from the record-breaking International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) Congress which was also held in Edinburgh. We are delighted that ICCA is supporting the Centre with this new arbitration event and look forward to welcome ICCA and our friends from the international arbitration community back to Scotland. The event will feature food, drink, music, dance and book festival themes. The Thursday will include a welcome networking reception and walking dinner where you can experience a range of Scotland’s finest food and drink. We are pleased to announce that Gary Born will be the Headliner at the Book Festival part of ArbFest2023 on Thursday 21 September. Gary will discuss his novel, The File, and take questions from festivalgoers on this exciting thriller. In addition, the book festival element will include the launch of the 21st Volume in ICCA’s Congress Series, themed “Arbitration’s Age of Enlightenment?” and publishing the papers presented at the September 2022 ICCA Congress which took place in Edinburgh. The Main Festival on 22 September, which takes the form of a conference, will take place at the spectacular Signet Library in the heart of the old town. We are proud to announce that Justin D’Agostino MH and Carita Wallgren-Lindholm will also be headliners for the main festival.
Co-chaired by Lise Bosman, executive director of the ICCA and Brandon Malone, a director of the Centre, it will involve Justin D’Agostino MH, CEO of Herbert Smith Freehills, as the Headliner.
