The Scottish Arbitration Centre was represented at the Commonwealth Law Conference in Cape Town in April. The Chairman and the Chief Executive attended various arbitration and energy law sessions and made links with lawyers from across the Commonwealth, including barristers involved in arbitration. They also worked with the Law Society of Scotland as part of the Team Scotland approach at the ceremony for the conference coming to Glasgow in 2015.
Andrew Mackenzie, Chief Executive, said:
“The Commonwealth Law Conference provided us with an ideal platform to interact and exchange ideas with lawyers and representatives from international arbitration centres from across the Commonwealth. It also allowed us to make links with senior members of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association, who will be organising the next Commonwealth Law Conference, which will take place in Glasgow, where we hope arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution will one of the focuses.”
