In June, at the invitation of the Energy Minister, Fergus Ewing MSP, the Scottish Arbitration Centre addressed the Scottish Government’s Oil and Gas Industry Leadership Group in Aberdeen on the benefits of arbitration for that sector.
Andrew Mackenzie, Chief Executive, said:
“We were delighted to meet with this group of senior representatives from the oil and gas industry to discuss Scottish arbitration and Scotland as a place to arbitrate. It also gave us an opportunity to promote our energy arbitration project with the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee. The aim of that project is to develop Scotland as an international centre for energy arbitration. We are keen to focus on the energy sector, given the oil and gas links in Aberdeen and Scotland’s expertise in the developing renewables industry. This meeting allowed us to make links to the oil and gas sector, who we will be consulting further as the project develops.”
